Few days ago I made a comment in this thread that I think the coffee situation is fine in my opinion - and then got downvoted immediately. The screenshot you see here is my medium size island in the new World containing 45 coffee roasters with supplying farms as well as a decent sized city providing the workforce for my coffee industrie.
stop and smell the coffee. To take time to enjoy the finer or more enjoyable aspects of life, especially when one has become overworked or overly stressed. A combination of two more common phrases, "stop and smell the roses" and "wake up and smell the coffee." You can't keep working these 80 hour weeks, John!
Ground coffee is what brewed coffee is made of. It's made up of ground coffee beans, much like flour is made of wheat and maize is made of corn. You use ground coffee like you would use a tea bag: add hot water to it, let it steep for a few minutes, then strain and drink. The resulting brew is what we all know as coffee.
The yield is the wet weight of the espresso that you have extracted. To understand yield, there are two main things you need to consider: The higher the yield, the more water has been passed through the coffee - meaning a higher extraction level. The higher the yield, the less concentrated the espresso will be.
"I need a coffee" is a very common shortening of "I need a [cup of] coffee." In the UK they shorten it somewhat differently as "I need a cuppa [tea]" "I need coffee" may have the same effect, but the meaning is more, "I need some coffee in my system, now, before I fall asleep."
